Double R Rodeo Means Down-Home Family Fun
If it’s entertainment you want,
it’s entertainment you will get at a Double R World Championship Rodeo. Unforgettable opening pageants, some of the toughest
livestock east (or west) of the Mississippi and top cowboys and cowgirls from
all over the U.S. come together at a Double R Rodeo, bringing a taste of the
“wild west” to places like Atlantic City, NJ, Wilmington, MA, West
Springfield, MA and New York, NY.
The
Camp family (Andy, Jeri and Justin) has been producing rodeos for over three
decades. The family and, some of
the best, rodeo crewmembers work together to deliver a full-scale production
that entertains, excites and educates.
Andy
has competed in almost every level of rodeo from Wild West shows to professional
rodeos, and he knows what makes a rodeo succeed.
“I
want to put on a good show for the public,” he says. “I want to bring them top entertainment, nationally ranked
cowboys and professional acts. I
want people to remember what they see at a Double R rodeo and come back for
more.”
“By
offering big prize money, we can attract the big names in rodeo,” Andy says.
“World champions can afford to drive from Oklahoma or Texas for the
prize money we offer. And having
top names at a rodeo draws a bigger crowd.”
Along
with the best in rodeo competition, a Double R Rodeo also features some of the
top acts in the business. Daredevil trick rider Tammie Kent, funny men Tim Lepard and John Hayden are just a few of the biggest names in rodeo
entertainment that perform regularly at Double R rodeos.
At the biggest rodeos, Double R brings rodeo royalty-Miss Rodeo USA-to
town for the week. The Camps go the
extra mile to see that these top performers travel the extra miles for one of
his rodeos.
They
don’t let much stand in their way of producing some of the best rodeos in the
nations. Double R has twice been
voted Rodeo Producer of the Year by the International Pro Rodeo
Association and has also been the proud recipient of Best New Rodeo of the
Year (2) and Best Rodeo of the Year.
These honors are determined by a vote of the 3000+ members of the IPRA.
Companies from the northeast are generally at a disadvantage in these
competitions, because an overwhelming majority of cowboys and cowgirls live in
the south and southwest.
Double
R has produced the annual Aleppo Temple Shrine Rodeo in Wilmington, MA for over
25 years and is proud to be the contractors for the Annual Native American
Bull Ridings during the Mashantucket Pequot Schmetizun in Ledyard,
CT.
The
Camputaros have proven that, although the location of their rodeos require a
little more travel, the cowboys and cowgirls are going to be there.
